-by this week's request: manipulate pitch, volume, location, space and timbre. [title: A One Minute Piece Where All Aspects of the Sound Change]

-oh what?! ...alright!

I recorded the sample (pic no. 2) with a classic guitar and the laptop built in microphone.

The composition (pic no. 1) is made by this sample - a D note - and effects. In order of appearance:

  • Pitch to compose the notes that make the loop melody.
  • Volume - Amplitude (intro is less louder, as well as, the additional channels, etc).
  • Reverb for space.
  • Panning for location (additional channels).
  • Timbre, all through progressively, but maybe more in the end, with phaser and EQ.

Following the recording settings tracking down:

This time, I've figured out that to avoid same issues (noise floor and low input), had to keep these levels:

microphone volume at 40/100

microphone booster at +24.0dB

recording level at 0.32

This configuration is becoming my favorite task.

inspiration: gojira, terra incognita, hidden track.
