Tried to record myself speaking my name.

Goals: recording should not clip, and should have a good signal to noise ratio (-0.8 to 0.8).

 So,

I used my terrible laptop built in microphone.  I've performed many combinations of microphone level, microphone booster (both in windows recording devices settings) and recording level (in audacity) to fight against great noise floor and low input of my voice simultaneously.

 Finally,

I kept microphone volume at 32/100, microphone booster at +36.0dB and the recording level at 0.32. Only now, that I'm writing these numbers, I can track down their analogy. :)
